Ideal candidates should meet, but are not limited to, the following recommended qualifications:

• Members must have a personal email address as email is the method used to communicate with members;

• Members must be dependable, energetic, team players who are comfortable in the outdoors;

• Be aware that Search and Rescue activities require strenuous physical activity;

• Optimum applicants should be physically fit males and females between the ages of 21 and 65 with no physical restrictions or health complications that would compromise their safety in a wilderness environment for an extended period of time;

• Members are required to pass an annual physical fitness test and should be capable of lifting a minimum of 45 lbs from a standing position.

• Applicants should have no prior back or joint pain or injuries, or other medical restrictions that would limit their participation in extended operations in rugged backcountry terrain;

• All members must undergo an extensive and comprehensive training program which requires time and commitment.  Minimum attendance levels are required at meetings and trainings;   

• All applicants will undergo a thorough background check and must have a clean police record.  Applicants must be drug free.
